I know what it’s like to not stand looking at yourself, you feel that you look so hideous and wierd, but that is simply a mental distortion in an ill mind. What helps is if I tell myself “I look great, fine, and just like a normal person” before I look at the picture of myself. Thanks

Excellent advice! Acceptance is the first and most important part of overcoming social anxiety.

Oh and the sound is off at the last few minutes. Whistling background sound. You might need to replace your speakers.

Where are you from? Your accent is different than mine.
I recommend reading The Bell Jar to learn more about accepting non-perfection.

Good point about accepting others, not seeing others as a threat subconsciously helps.

HI, please check out a condition called pyroluria!
I have been researching this condition for the last 6 months, And it seems that this is one of the main causes of social anxiety..
I too have suffered many years from this, i wasn’t till last month when i got a diagnoses, that i am almost better..
type in pyroluria on youtube, theres a few videos on it!
Also people who suffer from SA will eventually tire out there Adrenal glands..many have stage 3 adrenal exhaustion.
#20 by bamptonbred on February 15th, 2010
pyroluria treatment-if diagnosed with a simple test-mainly vitamin b6 & zinc..
For adrenal fatigue-treatment will vary depending on what stage…
recommend a test called cortisol saliva test..
Hope this helps anyone who as not thought of these very common causes..
I want to see people get better!
As i know this shit sucks

@NoSocialAnxiety
Book by Sylvia Plath. Many find it depressing, but I thought it at least had an uplifting ending.

@theboombody True. Thanks for that, I might check it out sometime

Good job, Emily! I feel like you’ve already done a great job with working on yourself and there’s huge potential for you to help others

So keep it up, I’ll subscribe to your channel and if you ever should join Facebook (or you’re there already) feel free to friend me, there’s a lot of uplifting and inspiring discussion going on there… I find it even better than on twitter… I feel it’s more personal on FB and I really enjoy that
Much love and hugs to you!
- Denis

You’re welcome
I was not necessarily referring to discussion on Social Anxiety and ways to deal with and overcome it, but more on personal growth in general and there’s a lot of stuff that you’re talking about that’s relevant not only to overcoming social anxiety, but to improving one’s life in many more areas of concern
But I’m sure there are groups about and people interested in the specifics of social anxiety there, you’d just have to do a search and follow the links between people
