how come some people blush and some don’t? my cheeks are blushy all the time and it doesn’t change when i’m embarassed. maybe that has something to do with it

@Buttercupohhellno omg and the worst thing is that they keep staring at you like “WTF YOU’RE SO RED NOW” and you’re like “omg please don’t make me feel worse”

@Buttercupohhellno I know. It’s like your facde being on fire, isn’it? Just hearing a door opening makes me blush. In public, I already have the fear of interacting with people. Blushing makes the experience even worse because I’m afraid people notice or angry because people noticed. I think the best way is through self-suggestion. I tried a few decades ago, so I think that’s what I’m going to do. :)

@queenfrostine97 It has to do with the skin and the blood vessels beneath the skin. One can have his face as hot as yours, but it won’t show. That one has the advantage that nobody will ask them why they’re blushing or laugh at them because they’re blushing. They have an edge on you.

@Kristiniskool As the interviewee put it, “It’s a downward spiral”, meaning that when you’re embarassed, you blush. And then you are embarassed because you blush, which makes you blush even more.

You blush because of your irrational belief that blushing is the end of the world! The cure is actually quite simple: stop fighting it! Right now, IMAGINE yourself saying or doing something embarrasing in front of someone, and examine at their facial reactions. Tell yourself, “how bad really is it? They don’t affect me. So what, who cares if I blush?” Write this down, read it and believe it as if it were factual. Say this statement over and over especially during anxiety-provoking situations.

i was laughing so hard at the comments because its exactly how i feel, being one of the extreme blushers ( my face gets so hot i sweat -.-) i find it really hard to socialise, especially in high school, and its extremely hard when ur gay and a hunk just enters the classroom or sits by you, its torture, ive left class to “use the restroom” way too often but thank god i scare people enough to not be mocked….fear is my only defense now :(

I used to blush SO. FUCKING. MUCH. even if I was just talking to my mom or more than 1 person! It made me really depressed so I went to my doctor for pills to stop my depression and she prescribed me celexa. Turns out I’m UNABLE to blush while on the medication. Makes me feel like an emotionless zombie, but at least I have complete confidence while talking to anyone.
