Social Anxiety/ Avoidant Personality Disorder
Here is another social anxiety video. I’d like to raise some awareness of what it’s like, but also note that I only speak on behalf of myself and no one else in this video. I want to raise awareness because besically in my daily life I feel like I cannot talk about it and I especially cannot use it to even try to explain my behaviour for fear of not being taken seriously. When it comes to youtubers, I am happy to discuss the validity of my diagnosis and whether or not it is considered an acceptable disability or I am just making excuses for being a social retard. It aims to achieve a cognitive restructuring, ie, to change the thinking of the patient. Once the patient begins to feel more positive, optimistic and realistic about their problem, the therapist will help you identify the “trigger” that often causes your panic attacks. This may be a thought, a certain situation, a certain activity or something as subtle as a slight change in heartbeat. Once the patient identifies what, if anything, acts as a trigger, you can learn to control the symptoms that come later. The last phase of social anxiety treatment often focuses on helping the patient to perform those activities that they usually avoid because of the fear of causing a panic attack. This is to make you see firsthand, that they are not afraid to these activities themselves (driving into crowded places, drinking coffee, getting on an airplane, public speaking …..).They are actually …
