Social phobia video blog 090825 – READ SIDEINFO!!

Read here first! This vlog is heavily cut because it was over 15 minutes and I was determined to make it one part. That’s why I want to use this space for the things I cut out. :) In this video I read a text from my blog that I wrote in 2006. when I started a second level course for the first time at the university. It’s a kind of “before and after” text describing the call-over/registration day with social anxiety in full bloom, before CBT, and then how I experienced it that day, after CBT. It’s really fun for me to read this text three years later too, because the way I chose to write it really shows how much I felt the difference and how significant that was to me! :) I have two reasons for making this video: 1: For identification and hopefully inspiration. I hope the text will show you that it is indeed possible to get better! The struggle is SO worth it, I promise. And as I keep saying, if you are still young, don’t wait to seek help. The sooner you get it, the less of your life will be wasted to this awfulness that is SA. 2: I want to give people who don’t have social anxiety an idea of what goes through our minds in situations like these. To help them understand. Another thing I had to cut out, was my choice to read my English translation of my Swedish text. My blog is bilingual, I translate every entry into English. Social Anxiety Treatment Using Second Life

Drexel University offers a free online treatment program for adults (ages 18-65) suffering from social anxiety disorder, as part of a research study. The therapy will occur through an online program called Second Life, which is user-friendly and easy to learn. This program can be downloaded for free onto your computer.
